Today I have the joy of announcing that two short stories I wrote have been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tales of Christmas!
It is available now through Amazon, Bookshop, and Barnes & Noble.
The first story of mine is titled The Dreaded Oysters. It is a heartfelt tribute to my deceased grandmother, who always made oyster dressing for Thanksgiving. As much as I loved my grandmother's cooking, both grandmothers were fabulous cooks to be exact, I can't stand oysters! To the point that I can honestly say I hate them. I'm not entirely sure where my disgust for oysters comes from, though when I shove through all of the to-do lists piled in my head, I have a faint memory of a family trip when I was young where we went to a whole slew of seafood shacks. The trip was a blast, except that we got raw oysters at every single one and the last night I ended up with my head in the toilet for a good hour. It may or may not have been the oysters.
The second story is A Tradition of Days Long Past. One year, my husband and I were invited to go caroling with friends. I didn't even know people still caroled! Not to mention the fact that I was soooooooooo nervous about singing. This is a great story about sharing the warmth of joy and friendship.
Happy reading, everyone!
